Hoppeland route - Sint-Sixtus abbey - 43 km
The Hoppeland cycling route lies to the north-west of Poperinge, close to the French border. The name of the route refers to the hops, which found fertile soil here in the clay strata. Starting from hop town Poperinge, the route will take you to charming places like Roesbrugge, Haringe and Sint-Jan-Ter-Biezen. Points of interest along the route include the town centre of Poperinge with the national hop museum and Talbot House, the Lovie castle grounds, Couthof castle and the Helleketelbos (a public wood).

On school days, take bus route 24 at Poperinge’s train station. The bus goes from Poperinge to the station of Diksmuide, passing Sint-Sixtus woods ? which are within walking distance from In De Vrede.
